Margate FC : Who’ll Stop the Rain ?

Posted on: October 6th, 2016 by Jonny Grossmark

I arrived at Hartsdown Park last Saturday  to be greeted by a rain storm and I went onto the pitch to discover that Dennis had made a run for it.

“Graham has been the head groundsman at Margate for four years now and when the new owner came in he seized the opportunity to purchase new turf maintenance machinery.

“I was fortunate in the sense that one of the owner’s first decisions was to upgrade the machinery. When I was presented with the opportunity to choose a new machine I didn’t even look at any other mowers – I was set on Dennis.”

Margate Co-Chairman Designate Alistair Bayliss advised this week that he questioned ” how long the club has a future ? ” which I think will surprise a number of shareholders.

Behind the scenes the supporters club have been raising money to buy a temporary stand at the ‘Coffin End’ and it appears that we may also need a new Dennis who puts some money into the club.

footnote : The Wealdstone raider is a very nice chap.
